Editorial Standards

Trust is the only currency a newsroom has. These are the rules every DailyFlash journalist works under.

Accuracy

We verify facts with at least two independent sources before publication wherever possible. We do not publish rumours as news; unconfirmed developments are clearly labelled as such, with the sourcing described honestly.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article with what changed and when. We never silently rewrite history.

Fairness

We seek comment from the subjects of critical reporting and give them a fair opportunity to respond. Headlines reflect the article; they do not mislead to earn a click.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made by editors, not advertisers, owners or governments. Journalists disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and gifts or paid travel from news subjects are not accepted.

Opinion vs news

Opinion pieces argue a point of view and are always labelled "Opinion" or "Editorial". They do not appear in news sections, and the views expressed are the author's own.

Privacy & harm

We weigh the public interest against privacy in every story, take particular care with reporting on children and vulnerable people, and avoid gratuitous detail in coverage of tragedy.

Report a concern

To flag an error or raise a standards concern, email contact@dailyflash.in with the subject "Correction".
